Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of our most asked questions. If you have any questions that are not answered here, please contact us via our contact us form or facebook messenger or Instagram. We value your safety and peace of mind first and foremost.
What do you mean when you say you are free from the Top 8 Major Food Allergens? What about sesame?
Everything we make is free from every one of the top 8 major food allergens as listed by the FDA. That means we do not use any gluten/wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, soy, shellfish and fish. We also check to make sure our suppliers are free from these food allergens. Though we do not use any sesame in our products, we cannot ensure there is cross contact at our suppliers since the FDA does not regulate sesame as an allergen that manufacturers need to report. As of August 2020, we will start using coconut in our facility. However these will be made using equipment that is separate from our main product line of items Free from the top 8 allergens. We will always label a product if it Contains or may have come in contact with coconut. If you have an allergy or intolerance outside of these top 8 food allergens, please take a look over our ingredient lists or send us a question using our contact us page. One of our team would be happy to talk through our ingredient list and manufacturers we use to ensure your safety.
Do you use artificial dyes and flavors?
We realize there can be allergies and sensitivities to artificial food dyes. One of the most common sensitivity is to the Red 40 dye. We do not use any artificial dyes or flavors in our standard product line. If any color is added, it is typically from a natural fruit or vegetable, as in strawberries, carrots, beets. On occasion, we will make a custom order where a customer requests frosting with vibrant colors. If so, we use disposable utensils and bowls we use to mix these artificial dyes with frosting. We also have the option to use natural dyes. We use the McKormick brand which is free from the top 8 major food allergens. We only use pure vanilla as a flavoring or real fruits or pure fruit oil, rinds or extracts.
My child is extremely allergic (anaphylactic) to dairy and peanuts, how do ensure none of your ingredients are contaminated before they get to your bakery?
Every individual ingredient we use at ENDless Bakery is sourced from suppliers that can provide us with official allergen statements that show that they are free from the top 8 major food allergens. We also ensure that those manufacturers do not have any of the top 8 major food allergens present in their facility on the line where the ingredient is being processed. We are happy to provide information about the brands or suppliers we use in case you would like to contact them directly for peace of mind. Send us a request on our contact us page.
Why can't I bring in outside food?
ENDless Bakery is a dedicated top 8 allergen free facility (with the exception of coconut), and we are committed to your safety. We ask guests to refrain from bringing in any outside food or drink to ensure everyone's safety. All it takes is for one person to bring in a coffee that has almond or dairy milk in it and if it spills, we have a high chance for cross contact or some reaction happening. We realize that this is a very strict policy, however your safety is not something we would ever compromise.
Why is Coconut considered a tree nut? I thought it was a fruit. Do you use coconut products?
According to FARE, www.foodallergy.org, Coconut, the seed of a drupaceous fruit, has typically not been restricted in the diets of people with a tree nut allergy. However, in October 2006, the FDA began identifying coconut as a tree nut. Medical literature documents a small number of allergic reactions to coconut; most occurred in people who were not allergic to tree nuts. If you have a tree nut allergy, it’s always recommend to check with your doctor. If ENDless Bakery uses coconut products in the facility, we will always label a product if it Contains or may have come in contact with coconut. If you have an allergy or intolerance outside of the top 8 food allergens, please look over our ingredient lists or send us a question using our contact us page.
Are your products vegan?
Yes, our products are all 100% vegan. We do not use any animal products. Though at this time we don't have a vegan certification, we do check every supplier to ensure they are either vegan certified or do not go through any process that is not vegan. For example, you wouldn't think that sugar is made from animal products. But it can go through a process that uses animal products "bone char" in case of highly refined sugar. The sugars we use are either raw cane or organics (which do not go through a bone char processing). We never use honey. We are also dairy and egg free. If you have any questions about our ingredients, please use the contact us form to write us. We hope to get a vegan certification soon as we get more products out to other retailers.
I'm allergic to bananas and strawberries, can I still eat your products?
We do use bananas and strawberries in some of our products. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to any allergen outside of the top 8 major food allergens, please let us know what you are avoiding and we can advise whether or not a product would be safe for you to eat. Even though we make every effort to avoid cross contact between ingredients in our kitchen, if an ingredient is present then there is always a small chance of cross contact occurring. If you are severely allergic to any of the ingredients we use in the bakery, we cannot guarantee that any of our products will be safe for you to eat.
Are your ingredients organic and non-GMO?
We try to use organic and non-GMO ingredients where possible. We are constantly searching for organic non-GMO options, however, some options may not fill our requirement of being top 8 allergen free, and your safety from these allergens takes priority.
Can I special order your products made with a sugar substitute and low carb flour alternative?
We currently do not have any products that are sugar free and low carb. Our recipes cannot be altered in any way. In order to create a no sugar low carb recipe, we would need to start from scratch and build a recipe around those parameters. We know there is a big demand for allergen free, low sugar, low carb baked goods. We're working on a couple recipes that we hope to introduce in the year 2021. Our R&D process for new recipes is taking 2-3 years.
Do you make custom cakes or decorated sugar cookies?
At this time, we don't make custom cakes or sugar cookies. On occasion, during holidays or special events, we will have a themed cookie cake or basic smash cake, cupcake cake or themed sugar cookies available to pre-order on our website.
There are a handful of local bakeries who specialize in custom cake design or weddings and events and cater to some dietary restrictions. We would be happy to provide you with a list of these bakers to call.
I live in New York. Can you ship your products?
Unfortunately at this time we don't offer shipping. We don't use any preservatives in our baked goods and we want to ensure the products are as fresh as possible when you get them. We are working on packaging and shipping procedures to hopefully get you a solution in the near future.
